The sanctuary is located about an hour and a half south of Cancun. It is run by a husband and wife and they care for seventeen former pet monkeys that were confiscated or turned in by their owners, Weber said.

"For a fee, they allow you to sit in the monkey's enclosure and enjoy their company," she said. "The money supports the care and feeding of these beautiful monkeys. It is an animal lover's dream."
